German Project Aims to Save Energy

Historic and picturesque Heidelberg seems an unlikely spot for an ambitious, ultramodern sustainable-housing project. Yet, the German university town of 150,000 inhabitants is building a district in a former rail depot that it hopes will help both the environment and the local real-estate market, as well as inspire imitations.
